Press Release - July 2007 |
In a move that will extend their global reach for specialty LTL, ZLN (A subsidiary of ZIM Integrated Shipping Services) acquired American West Worldwide Express, a California based premium LTL freight transportation company, on July 20, 2007. ZLN acquired Interlog USA, a Minneapolis based international freight forwarder in late 2006. The acquisition comes at a time when shippers are requiring sophisticated global logistics solutions combined with excellent customer service that can not be met by larger companies. Guy Denniston explains that it's the customers who are the big winners in this decision. "Combining with ZLN and Interlog USA, American West Worldwide Express will now be able to offer global solutions at a time when being a domestic LTL carrier is no longer enough. This will allow us the ability to offer our customers, one-stop shopping for all their global logistics needs with the highest level of quality. We are building a superior platform for global growth giving ZLN, Interlog USA and American West everything it needs to meet the customers demands for more sophisticated service and supply chain management".
